Youth Exchange in Barcelona

After an online Kickoff Meeting to get to know one another (on 2 July 2025), 20 young adults (aged 18-30) from the EUR(H)OPE project’s 4 partner countries met for a week-long, intensive Youth Exchange on the topic of “The Right to Tell Your Story: Personal and Collective Narrative Techniques”, held from 7-11 July at #plantauno (l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona).

Five local youth representatives from each partner country took part in the Youth Exchange, which offered an in-depth training on the creation of self-narratives and audiovisual production, as well as ample opportunities for the participants to share their experiences and engage in valuable cultural exchange with young people from countries and cultures different from their own. Participants learned new skills in personal and collective narrative techniques, conscious communication, sound design, audiovisual techniques, and recording sound and visuals, as well as developing new soft skills in intercultural communication, knowledge exchange, and the management of intercultural group dynamics, among others.

Under the supervision of trainers and journalism professionals, the youth participants put all of these skills into practice in a guided process of creating, producing, editing, and presenting their own audiovisual/ journalistic outputs in 4 intercultural groups. The resulting 4 audiovisual communication products tell their personal and collective stories of migration and identity through varied audiovisual formats (short films, documentaries, and experimental audiovisual/soundscape pieces).

These 4 audiovisual/ journalistic outputs are available to view in full, in the Outputs section of our website.
